Little Blue Box (Australian at Heart Series Book 1) by Frances Dall’Alba is an irresistible romance. Readers get two people who are different but connected through a deep secret. One day, Ella cleans up her mother’s closet and finds a little blue box hidden from prying eyes. What she sees there is unnerving. Is there a past she doesn’t know about? Or, does it have to do with the father her mother never wanted to mention? Either way, Ella has questions and decides to take them to a private investigator. The private investigator, Zane, has never had much time to date or be in a relationship, but when Ella shows up in his office, saying she needs help to uncover the truth, he is more than willing to bend over backward. The two of them instantly strike up a relationship, but the more they dig up together, the more secrets seem to want to force them apart.
Frances Dall’Alba creates an intriguing story for readers. I kept wondering what was going to happen next. The guessing game was real. And dare I say, exciting? I almost thought it might all end up like a soap opera or drama. Just how far do these secrets go? In any case, I can say with surety that Dall’Alba managed to tie everything together neatly. My guessing games did not have to continue at the end. For me, if it all comes together well, I’m all in. Please don’t leave me hanging at the finale! Thankfully, I was spared, and I can reflect on Little Blue Box with fondness.
