Lost Chances: A Paranormal P.I. Mystery Thriller by Judy T Bishop is the third book in The Redstones Chronicles series. When Mason decided to admit himself into a rehabilitation center to take care of his drug issues, he left his sister, Mikey, and his partner, Trick, in charge of their paranormal P.I. agency called SCOPE. Given that Mason was the only paranormal investigator in SCOPE, keeping the business afloat required hiring another paranormal investigator asap. Fortunately, their problem did not linger for too long when a paranormal investigator, Kyle, offered his services to the agency. It appeared that now they could live life in peace. Yet, none of them was that lucky. Mason and Mikey's psychopath sister had run away from a psychiatric hospital. Considering their horrid past, it was highly likely that she was preparing to get her revenge. Although terrified to the bone, Mikey chose not to interrupt Mason's treatment and so kept the news to herself. Soon enough, however, she realized that Mason had opened his own investigation inside his rehabilitation center. Even though Mason was devoted to his treatment, he could not turn a blind eye when the evidence of foul play smacked him right in the face.
There is a lot to like in Lost Chances. Mason is a character who proves himself to be a serious investigator right from the beginning. He is focused, organized, and rational. With Trick's wit and quick thinking, the two of them make a formidable duo. Although more scenes involving these two would have been a real treat, even this much of a glimpse was entertaining enough. Since this is book 3, there were quite many references from the previous books. Judy T Bishop has included as many details as possible to close these gaps. For readers, beginning with the first book would be the right course of action. Lost Chances has engaging conversations that are full of life. The audience will find themselves sighing (with frustration or relief, depending upon the context) and chuckling with these dialogues. Inside the rehab, the story was incredible and highly intriguing. The execution of the suspense is perfect. Outside the rehab, Mikey and others had their moments of holding the audience. Lost Chances by Judy T Bishop has the charisma to hold its audience till the very last page. Mason's skilled investigation reveals the skeletons slowly and beautifully, giving readers exactly what they came for: well-executed suspense.
