Author Biography

I never saw myself as an author. My career was spent making sense out of numbers. But sometimes, life has a way of taking us in a direction we never imagined. And if we are lucky, each of us will have that one person in our lives who inspired us, challenged us to think beyond the norm, and whose very existence made us a better person.
For me and my family, that person was Amanda. She came into our lives through the foster care system after a night of horror that no one should ever have to bear, least of all a 3½ year old child. The broken little girl that stole our hearts was left with only the ability to communicate through her beautiful blue eyes and a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms.

Love Blue – Amanda’s Story is the fulfillment of the promise that I made to Amanda to give her the voice she never had. To tell the world how remarkable she was and to inspire others to live life to the fullest despite limitations. I was privileged to see first hand the strength and tenacity that we humans are capable of and I watched in awe as she change everyone she came in contact with. And she did it all without ever saying a word.

My hope is that you will read Amanda’s story. That you will be inspired and help me spread the word about this truly remarkable human being.
