Lucy and the New Baby by Kim Yannayon is the adorable story of Lucy Kitty who finds out that she has become a big sister. Milo, her baby brother, is a ball of fur and has his own room with a crib and a musical carousel that plays a sweet lullaby. Lucy's grandparents come with two gift boxes and her grandma gifts her with a doll to practice being a big sister. Daddy Kitty also tells her the duties of a big sister. The book teaches kids to play the role of an elder sister by taking care of the new born baby.
The book is very cute and charming. I enjoyed the way Lucy slowly learns to take care of her little brother Milo, and how she lends a helping hand to her parents while they take care of the baby. From feeding to playing, giving a bath and finally putting her little brother to sleep, Lucy takes care of her baby brother very well. The illustrations, like the story, are adorable, bright and colorful. They breathe life into the characters and give pace and movement to the story.
Grandparents and parents can use this book as a bedtime story book for their grandkids and kids. It is also perfect for read aloud sessions in schools and classrooms. All kids' books with an educational theme and concept are ideal books for kids as it is easy to teach them new things. The book has a good educational theme that definitely makes it a winner.
