Manoli the Greek Mouse is a children's picture book written by George Psomas, with art by Penny Serrano. It tells the story of Manoli Pontikis, a mouse who lives in a small village with his family in Greece. Manoli feels inadequate because all his siblings have special talents that set them apart. One night, he makes a wish to the big cheese in the sky, asking for guidance on how to be special. The answer he receives prompts him to leave home the next day and search for his special gift. On his journey, he meets a lost toad, a lonely donkey, and distressed bees whose beehive was knocked out of a tree. Manoli shows each of them kindness, patience, and care, and learns that he has always had a special gift in his heart.

Manoli the Greek Mouse is a delightful story that beautifully illustrates the power of kindness and compassion. Through his journey, Manoli learns that true greatness lies in the way we treat others. Children will be captivated by this charming story and the valuable lessons it imparts. George Psomas uses rhyming words and a calm tone to narrate the story, giving it a rhythmic flow, creating an engaging reading experience, and giving the tale a musical quality. Each character is adorable and has a charming personality. The story is told through colorful pictures that complement the text and depict the characters and their expressions. The picturesque village, lush greenery, and blue skies make the setting feel alive and vibrant. The attention to detail in both the illustrations and the writing creates a visually engaging and immersive experience for readers of all ages. I recommend sharing this book with your children to teach them to be kind and caring.
