Mate and Rix Escape Boredom: Addition with Regrouping is a children's picture book written by Jolie Curran and illustrated by Frans Vischer. Rix the hedgehog and Mate the Kangaroo are tired of sitting on the shelf of a pet toy store all day and doing nothing. When night comes and the toys are left alone, Mate suggests they could have loads of fun if they built a fort. They agree on this brilliant idea and search for a suitable place to construct their fort. Unfortunately, all the great spots in the store are either already occupied or are not comfortable enough. Just as they are about to lose hope, they find a place full of coins ready to be counted. Join Rix and Mate as they display their impressive mathematical skills.
Fun, adventure, and mathematics. Mate and Rix Escape Boredom introduces you to unusual and adorable characters ready to teach kids how to add and regroup numbers. Jolie Curran uses expanded notation, addition, and number lines to show how the characters found their answers. The book will teach your children how to add multiple-digit numbers with confidence, build a fort, and make friends. Rix and Mate are lively characters with great personalities and I am sure kids will fall in love with them. Frans Vischer did a splendid job with the illustrations, using bright colors that made everything clear. Read this book with your kids today and enjoy the fun of adding numbers and building a fort.
