Of course, animals seldom stay in one place, so, as he observes them, some creatures leave, and others arrive. Rio is tasked with figuring out how many animals he sees now. This is when simple math problems appear using addition, subtraction, and counting. A few useful tricks are highlighted, like using your fingers to subtract or add. In addition to the riddles, each spread shares a fun fact about the animals depicted. A colorful math worksheet rounds out the book.
