When one considers their ideal partner in life, they must begin by first looking in the mirror and being honest with themselves. This seems to be where many fail, because we don't want to deal with reality but rather a false-self of who we are or what we want in life. Author Elizabeth Goodwin in her book Meet Your Perfect Mate helps the reader to be honest with what they see, what they desire and what reality really is. Setting one's goals is indeed a method of achieving one's desires and when a person doesn't set a goal then they will come up short. However, when one truly sets their goals of what they are looking for within a person, it also exposes the good as well as the bad found within themselves. When creating these goals, one needs to be specific about everything they want and desire within a person. For example: their looks, their character, etc. Nothing is too high or lofty when you truly desire something as later in life you will be unhappy if you settle for less than what is deep within your heart.
Author Goodwin enables the reader to learn valuable information by providing exercises, charts and a place to write out one's feelings, questions, notes, etc. This is a very practical and helpful book for someone who is looking for their ideal partner and soul mate. This would be a great resource for singles, pre-marital counseling and anyone looking for their ideal mate. When one is at this point of their journey, they need insight and direction to help them make the right decision.
