Milo Finds His Forever Home is a touching children’s story by Steve and Nancy Devon. Milo is a dog whose elderly owner became sick and couldn’t care for him. Sad and upset, Milo ran away, was hit by a car, and was picked up by a volunteer from an animal rescue facility. Milo’s hind legs were injured, so he was fitted with a doggie wheelchair before being placed for adoption. At the shelter, Milo met other dogs brought in by former owners for different reasons, such as the owner developing allergies or being deployed in the military; or the dog barking too loudly or not getting along with another family pet. On the shelter’s annual adoption day, will Milo and his friends find new owners to love them?

You don’t have to be a dog lover to love Milo Finds His Forever Home, but the lovable canines who fill the pages of this book are sure to engage any child. Steve and Nancy Devon created an amazing cast of cute characters who will help children develop compassion and kindheartedness toward shelter animals looking for homes. Even when the dogs go on a naughty adventure one night to steal their favorite chicken gravy-flavored dog treats, you can’t help but be charmed by them. As each dog explains why he was brought to the shelter, we’re reminded that our different personalities, characteristics, or circumstances may not be agreeable to some people we encounter but are wonderfully endearing and perfectly compatible with others.
