Mister Spunky and Farley by Kelly Preston is a fun children's book about a dog named Mister Spunky. One day, Mister Spunky is driving along in his convertible when he sees a lost-looking dog. Mister Spunky pulls over and asks if he is all right. The other dog tells Mister Spunky that his owners got rid of him because he was sick. Mister Spunky suggests that the little dog could come to live with him. Mister Spunky soon learns that Farley has cancer. Mister Spunky immediately takes Farley to the vet. Farley undergoes chemotherapy. The next day, Farley says that he has always wanted to play in a lot of snow, but there's not much snow where they live. Will he ever get the chance play in snow? Will Farley get better?

I really, really enjoyed reading Mister Spunky and Farley by Kelly Preston. The book is very well written and descriptive. The story is very exciting. I liked the ending, because it leaves the reader wondering what will happen to Farley. The characters are all very likeable, because Mister Spunky is kind to Farley, and Farley is very brave. Many people will be able to relate to this book, because many people have had a dog that had cancer. The illustrations are very well drawn and clearly depict each scene. The pictures of Mister Spunky and Farley are adorable. I liked that there are colouring pages at the end of the book. I would definitely recommend this to all young readers.
