Mozzi Presents: My Special Friends by Merav Gamliel Boschan is a collection of rhyming verses that will introduce young readers to Mozzi's friends. Gulliver is the new dog and has no friends, and then he meets Lucy and becomes friends with her. Little Toy is blind but he enjoys the world without seeing it, and his life is full of happiness. Though Blackie is a big dog, there is nothing to fear; he is calm, polite, and gentle and all the kids love him. Molly is a bit bigger than average size but a lovely dog with intelligent eyes. Then there's Cookie, Toffee, Rexie, Goldie, Clover, and Lucky, who are all different yet unique in their own way. These animals will teach children acceptance, responsibility, compassion, generosity, and kindness through their behavior.
I love the way the author conveys messages to young readers through Mozzi's friends. The verses for each of these dogs are delightful and they teach readers life lessons in a beautiful way. Every dog is different yet has something positive to teach readers with their behavior. The illustrations by Ambadi Kumar are adorable and give the dogs their own personality and individuality along with breathing life into the scenes. The series 'Mozzi Presents' is a must-have in every home where there are children and animal lovers as they will teach kids how important it is to observe dogs and learn positive things from them. The book is also good to use in classrooms for poetry reading sessions because of the important messages. It will also encourage children to try their hand at writing rhyming poems.
