The story begins with the sun setting and the day ending in Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock: Goodnight Mr. Clock by Davon Miller. It is time for Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock to go to bed. He puts himself in the alarm mode so that he can get up and go to work on time. He goes to bed at 9 p.m. He is disturbed by the noises outside and tries to put some soothing music on. But he still cannot sleep and he opens the window to see the beautiful moonlight shine in with the twinkling stars. Will Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock finally get to sleep and go to work on time?
It is a fun read and the idea of a clock trying to get sleep and wake up on time to go to work is a unique topic. The sketches are delightful and give the story fluidity and movement, and connect children with the adorable Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock. It is a fun book to read out in classrooms and school libraries during read aloud sessions, and parents and grandparents can use it for bedtime story-telling. It is interesting to watch Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock trying to get to sleep. Readers can try out some of the techniques he uses to go to sleep if they are unable to sleep. Children will love the pictures in the book and these will also encourage them to draw and color. The book also introduces readers to clocks, and the concepts of time, and setting an alarm clock.
