Sydney Hughes goes to Dickens, New England, to help her Aunt Irma recover from hip surgery. Sydney works as an insurance actuary and lives a very structured life, so she figures the trip to her aunt’s place will be calm and uneventful. However, that plan falls apart very quickly. The town is deep into Christmas celebrations, and her aunt is known and loved by almost everyone. When Irma’s cat gets stuck in a tree, firefighter Blake Gallagher shows up to help. Sydney and Blake's first meeting is awkward but memorable. As Sydney settles into the swing of things, she is drawn into local events, including filling in as Mrs. Claus and helping with fundraisers. At the same time, Blake is dealing with pressure at the firehouse and thinking about his future in Dickens. With a winter storm rapidly approaching and their connection growing stronger every day, Sydney must decide if she'll return to her safe routine or consider building a life somewhere new. Will she take that risk? Read Through Any Storm by Kathryn Hills to follow Sydney's heartwarming story.

Through Any Storm by Kathryn Hills is a holiday romance about stepping out of your comfort zone. I liked how the story alternates between Sydney's and Blake’s points of view, allowing you to see that both characters are dealing with real struggles. The town events actually matter. Every detail and secondary character truly drive the plot forward, not just adding holiday sparkle to the story. The hurdles Sydney and Blake face—work pressure, family responsibilities, and meeting others’ expectations—are portrayed in a very realistic way. That’s what made their journey easier to connect with. Overall, this novel offers a warm, cozy story that left me satisfied. If you're a fan of holiday romances, I recommend you add this one to your reading list.
