Do you ever wonder why things work the way they do? C.M. Harris celebrates all those questions children love to ask in What If We Were All Curious! Who, what, where, why, and how can lead to so many discoveries. There’s a little bit of everything here. Kids get to watch what happens in nature, try experiments, and see how tools like cameras and microscopes can help us learn. Science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) are woven throughout at a level that makes sense for younger learners. Changing leaves, sea creatures, machines, and outer space are explored through rhyming text. There’s even a look at measurements, patterns, graphs, and charts. So, are you ready to ask a question? If so, what are you curious about?

I had so much fun reading What If We Were All Curious! by C.M. Harris. My favorite part was the emphasis on asking who, what, where, why, how, and when. Kids are curious by nature, and Harris shows them that their questions matter. The STEAM concepts are approachable instead of intimidating. I’d love to share this with my kindergarten students. I would definitely ask them what they’ve always wondered about. As a follow-up, we could choose a question, make predictions, and conduct a simple investigation. The interactive Curiosity Challenge at the end offers another great extension. I appreciated the rhyming text, too. I can see it helping with early literacy skills. Vitor Lopes’ vibrant illustrations bring the story to life. Children are actively exploring on every page. Young scientists and naturally inquisitive readers will want to pick this one up. I believe this book belongs in homes, classrooms, and libraries. Albert Einstein said, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence.” I think that perfectly captures the message here. You never know where one little question might lead.

If you want to get kids excited about the world around them, What If We Were All Curious! by C.M. Harris is a fantastic place to start. The story follows a group of diverse, energetic kids who can’t stop asking who, what, where, why, how, and when about everything they see. Instead of just running around the schoolyard, they behave like actual inventors exploring the world. They learn why autumn leaves drop, test compound mixtures with cool lab tools, and imagine swimming alongside marine creatures under the waves. The friends learn to take notes, look at cells under a microscope, track planets, and trace repeating geometric patterns together. It gives them a whole new way to look at everyday objects and simple machines. Will these little thinkers figure out the puzzles they are testing, or are their questions just the start of a much bigger adventure?

What If We Were All Curious! by C.M. Harris is an educational children’s picture book that makes early science lessons engaging and fun. Reading it feels like taking an exciting trip to a modern museum where nobody tells you to sit still or be quiet. Vitor Lopes’ illustrations bring a ton of creative energy to the pages, using warm characters and bright, detailed backdrops that make a chemistry station or a deep-sea dive look very inviting to young learners. The rhyming text has a really nice, easygoing flow, reminding kids that bringing classmates into their projects can turn a tough problem into a fun group game. I love how the story focuses on kids trading ideas and building little projects as a team, showing that learning is a great way to make friends and encourage teamwork. It is an easy recommendation for any parent’s or teacher’s reading rotation, proving that a single question can jumpstart a lifetime of creative thinking. Highly recommended.

What If We Were All Curious! (A STEAM Story About Exploring, Learning, and Asking Questions) is written by C.M. Harris and illustrated by Vitor Lopes. This is a children's educational picture book meant to inspire youngsters to ask questions and explore the possible answers. The book uses rhymes, questions, and images filled with children learning in different environments to inspire readers to explore a variety of subjects ranging from art to math all the way to outer space. Are you ready to help your young readers unlock their drive to question and understand the world around them?

What If We Were All Curious! by C.M. Harris is a well-written children's book filled with dynamic visual elements specifically geared toward young children. Each page was filled with an image on a topic of exploration, with a few lines of written text in the upper corner of the page. Each page presented a new topic filled with happy children exploring it and asking "who, what, when, where, and why." I found this format to be perfect for young children, as the image draws them in with their interests and then the words inspire them to ask questions about it. I personally really like the curiosity challenge at the end of the book, as it gives children a way to personalize the book as theirs while also getting them to directly engage with the idea of asking questions about everything. The fact that it asks them not just questions, but to come up with an idea of how to test their question was a nice touch. It gets children not just questioning but also looking for answers as well. Overall, this is a must-have book for young elementary-aged students.
