My Dad Is A Great Man is written by Zehavit Tzarfati and illustrated by Mindy Liang. Within its pages you will find adventure, excitement, compassion, love, and the admirable characteristics of a father. A young boy is allowed to play in his dad's study. Filled with excitement and the need to explore, the boy begins to snoop around and finds a few of his dad's belongings. As he handles and examines each item, the boy imagines how each item serves its place in the study. The father explains to his son that each item did not serve the purpose the boy had imagined, but the boy loves his father anyway, and still thinks his dad is a great man.
Zehavit Tzarfati and Mindy Liang have created a wonderful, heartfelt and loving story, with very colorful, vibrant pictures. This story will hold a place in any reader's heart who knows a young boy who thinks the world of their father. I loved the extreme visions the boy had thought each item he found was once used for. A young boy that admires his father would think he did great things such as dig for dinosaur bones because he has a hat that resembles the one an archaeologist would wear. It is a very sweet story that every father and son should read together. I was very excited when I found at the end of the book a link to an activity kit for parents to do with their children. A very cute read, and awesome activity link.
