The relationship between mothers and children is brought into focus in My Mommy's Sweater by Veronica Hilda Torres. The book fills you with nostalgia and brings back all those special moments readers share and have shared with their mothers. The author takes us into familiar territory and comfort zones while speaking about the bond shared between a mother and child. The moments shared by the little girl with her mother will touch readers' hearts. It is a multi-lingual book which I would recommend to all mothers, parents, friends, and family because it evokes a multitude of warm emotions in you.

It is a perfect book to read to children while trying to introduce them to reading. The author has chosen a beautiful theme and knitted together the poignant moments to make a lovable story. The story captures the essence of a mother's love beautifully. The scenes are simple and presented with elegance. The illustrations breathe life into the characters and scenes, giving them movement and charm. Illustrations form an important part of children's stories. Children are always attracted to color and pictures. The pictures in this story are attractive and colorful enough to capture the attention of any child.

I would recommend all school and children's libraries to keep a copy of this book. Parents and teachers can use this book for read-aloud sessions. It also makes a good bedtime storybook. The line 'My mommy makes me beautiful and loved' sums up the theme of the entire story.

I loved this book. It took me back to being a child and to feel blessed to be a mom.

I have a three year old daughter. Reading to her My Mommy's Sweater made me realize that there are many other mothers who do the same things with their children. As mothers we do many similar things with our daughters (and sons). I would definitely recommend this book to all my friends and family.
