Never 'TOO' Wonderful by Terrie Sizemore is a kids' book following Kevin, who thinks everything is just TOO something. His mum is worried about him because that’s all he can say – breakfast is too hot, the shower is too wet, the bus stop is too crowded. In fact, Kevin spends all day thinking about things that are TOO something. One day, Mum decides she has to do something about it, and she devises a way to show him that TOO can be used for good things, not just bad. Kevin finally learns that he complains TOO much and that he should look for the good ways to use it. Will Kevin learn how to use his TOOs for good?
Never ‘TOO’ Wonderful by Terrie Sizemore is a cute picture book with amazing illustrations by Nina Hvozdzeva. The concept is important – lots of us only use the word TOO when we’re complaining, but there are so many good ways to use it, and this book teaches young readers how to look for those good ways. It points out all the bad ways, and I’m sure plenty of kids will recognize themselves, and so will their parents! This isn’t just a great book for kids to learn from, though. It’s also a fun story that will hopefully teach them that reading is fun as well. Not enough young people read these days, and I think that’s a great shame. There’s a lot of joy to be had from settling in with a good book, and the more books like this there are, the more we can encourage them to read. Great story, highly recommended reading for kids and parents alike.
