Nickname Your Emotions and Hug Them by Rui Bigmoon is a well-written book that offers readers a practical guide on how to overcome mental and emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, anger, regret, and more. Rui writes about her mental and emotional struggles following the death of her mother and her journey to recovery. She also writes about the healing power of tears and the positive influence of gratitude in overcoming emotional problems. Rui relies on the teachings of Nobuo Shioya, who has his own approach to breathing, which enables his body to take in more oxygen, relieve tension, and cool down the brain. Other crucial topics in this book include the mystery of the spine, outgrowing judgmental beings, the law of attraction, and more.
I found this book at the right time when I needed it. Lately, I have been struggling with anxiety and depression, and reading this book made me feel relieved. I commend Rui for sharing her personal struggles and the stories of others, which made this book both engaging and relatable. The sections that discussed breathing appealed to me the most, as I have already started practicing the box breathing method. I loved that the author included references, which further authenticate the information in this book. The writing is detailed, organized, well-paced, and easy to comprehend, with themes of mental health, emotional health, self-awareness, gratitude, and more. I recommend Nickname Your Emotions and Hug Them by Rui Bigmoon to anyone who is grappling with any form of mental or emotional challenge.
