Oliver the Oyster and the Lost Lab is a children’s storybook written by J.B. Auchter with illustrations by Ayan Mansoori. The book is part of Oliver the Oyster book series, and in this installment, Oliver and his friends, Clara the clam, Miriah the mermaid, and Cathy the crab, add Mac the Labrador Retriever to their adventure club. Mac gets lost and asks the gang to help him find his family, but unlike his new crew, Mac is not a sea creature. Despite this challenge, the team comes up with ingenious ideas to move around on land. They search restaurants, the parade, and more places for Mac’s family and end up having a fun adventure. Will they ever find Mac’s family? Get a copy of this book to find out.
Fun, adventure, and suspense, Oliver the Oyster and the Lost Lab brings you all this and more. The story is entertaining from start to finish, and I loved getting to know the characters and their personalities. Oliver and his friends see new places on land and learn about parades, pirates, and ice cream. The near misses they had with Mac’s family had me at the edge of my seat. Every time he and his family almost ran into each other made me anticipate their reunion. The book has colorful illustrations and beautiful photos that make the book visually appealing. J.B. Auchter is a creative writer who combines lessons about friendship, kindness, and seaside living in one story and I cannot wait to read more in this series.
