Author Biography

Born in 2005, I'm a first time author. Being a big brother, I'm always trying to find fun ways to entertain and teach my little sister. My interests range from Boy Scouts to basketball, and flag football, to movie making, running my own ice cream business, and storytelling. When a school project had me learning about the solar system, I took my research and put a Dr. Seuss spin on it to make learning science fun. My brother has always loved to draw, so he agreed to bring my words to life through his illustrations. Hopefully this will be the first of many educational and fun books to come!!

Our Super Solar System by Camden Short takes young readers on a magical trip to get acquainted with the wonders of space. The sun shines bright and the stars can be tracked. The moon orbits the earth, reflecting the sun through the night. Mercury is small when compared to the other planets and it looks more like the moon. Venus is said to be the sixth largest planet, and the earth is home to every human being. Mars is called the red planet and is covered in canyons, volcanoes, and ice caps. The Romans excelled in astrology, and they have gods like Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury.

Learning about the planets, the solar system, and space can be difficult for children but the author tackles the topic with ease and expertise. The book is educational and informative, and the author makes learning about astronomy and space interesting to children. The illustrations by Michael Short are magical and captivating, and will make it easy for children to understand the author's words.
