Author Biography

My love for science and my favourite book, 'Contact', by Carl Sagan, inspired me to write my sci-fi/rom-com 'Painting Her Thoughts'. The main character, Unna, is a lonely scientist who must confront her insecurities and embark on a journey through a wormhole to save the world. But to travel forward through space, she must go backwards in time to discover her true self.
I've always liked writing. My short stories and poems were first published by the literary magazine Croatian Thought in my native language. I started writing screenplays to practice my English. I enjoyed it so much that I soon realised I wanted to write short stories and novels.
My screenplays have placed highly in many screenwriting competitions. I am turning my screenplay 'Vesna's Beach', a semi-finalist in the Page International Awards, into a novel.
Being a parent (and happy servant) to five rescue cats, I hold my Lilly-Puss and Pharaoh series close to my heart (on Amazon now).

In Painting Her Thoughts by Natasha Blazic, Unna Turner is working as a physics assistant and nothing is exciting about her work and life. All of that is about to change when Rom Cabrey, her ex-flame and a famous artist, returns to the city. Over time, she has grown to hate Rom. However, she agrees to pose for Rom on his private island. For her, it is just business and an opportunity to work on her overdue Ph.D. thesis. While they are on the island, Unna feels a magnetic field that affects them strongly. She only feels it whenever Rom is close to her in a specific spot on the Island. While Rom delights in painting them together, the attraction between the two is irresistible. Unna struggles to understand the source of the energy and to handle her feelings for Rom. Meanwhile, aliens are on the brink of invading Earth and humanity’s survival depends on Unna. She must unravel the mystery and undertake a perilous journey through a wormhole that will open only when she decodes the mystery. However, can she succeed and save Earth?

Painting Her Thoughts by Natasha Blazic is a captivating novel that combines elements of romance, mystery, and science fiction to deliver a delightful reading experience. With an intriguing plot and well-developed characters, this book will keep readers hooked from start to finish. The characters are multidimensional and Unna is a relatable protagonist with a complex personality. She is intelligent and beautiful. Her point of view shines brightly through the story, thanks to Blazic’s superb use of the first-person narrative voice. The threads that bind the characters and their relationships come to life in this fascinating tale. While I enjoyed the way Unna and Rom evolve in the story, Unna’s relationship with her Ph.D. supervisor, Professor Maria Raveley, is a complicated one. The setting in Painting Her Thoughts is marvelously explored and from the sticky heat of Rio de Janeiro to the ambiance of the university and the lush beauty of the island, the author offers images that will delight readers. This novel is an intriguing blend of romance and science fiction that will appeal to a wide audience.

A lovely story! I was surprised as how I got lost in the book and I am not a sci-fi fan! It is different and even more appealing to the technology geeks out there. Couldn’t recommend it more.
