Pliny The Mouse by Myra Humphrey is a delightful story for children with a message and a beautiful concept. Pliny the mouse is seeking shelter for the night. He sees a church under construction with a lot of workers there. He gets into the church through an opening and he begins to nibble on a piece of candy. He hears a sound and then in come many people. Pliny hides and watches the activity until he is caught. Pliny is saved by Winnie, another mouse, and what follows after that is an adventure which will amuse readers. The book also has a beautiful message of how we are all dependent on each other in life and we should share God's love.
The story is narrated with the help of illustrations which make it appealing to kids. The pictures give movement and life to the characters and scenes. It is a simple tale with a Christian message that parents and grandparents can use as a good bedtime story for their kids and grandkids. It is a useful story book for read aloud sessions in class rooms and libraries and can be used in Bible classes to teach the concept of love and sharing. Books like these are perfect to teach children about God. At the same time, the story is so interesting that it keeps them glued to the book. Both Winnie and Pliny are adorable characters and they convey beautiful thoughts and concepts to young readers through their behavior.
