Author Biography

Dr. Malakoff, a psychologist in clinical practice spanning over thirty years, coupled with her own life’s journey, came to recognize that the current model of psychology was not sufficient to address the root causes of her client’s issues. Through years of observation and study of evidence-based research she concluded that our past life imprints undeniably exert a significant influence on our current conditions. Decades of unraveling the traumatic events that were embedded in the recesses of her patient’s psyche revealed the therapeutic benefits of releasing these disturbing patterns that exert a significant influence on every aspect of our lives—health, relationships, finances and so much more.

As the Director of Wellness Through Awareness since 1988, her relentless pursuit of the most effective healing models to restore health has culminated in a pioneering study: Project Stepping-Up, The Effect of Transgenerational Traumas in the Psychobiology of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. In 2019, this research proposal was recognized by the International Tao Academy and was awarded the Tao Calligraphy Practitioner of the Year Award.
`
Additionally, she co-founded KnoU Profiles, a website dedicated to empowering people through self-knowledge as a way to discover the life lessons we come here to learn.

Spanning over thirty years as an inspirational teacher, seminar leader and international speaker, she has been an expert spokesperson on television, radio, pod casts and numerous print publications espousing the underlying principles behind the story of Prelude that define life’s conditions, and empowering others to live the life they desire.

Prelude: Every Life is a Prelude to the Next by Cheryl A. Malakoff and Robert A. Clampett is a magnificent novel about reincarnation. When Carol Klein, a specialist in clinical hypnosis for pain management, cures her patient through deep hypnotic regressions, her belief in the soul migration from one existence to another strengthens. But after she explains how she cured her patient, Carol is warned that her career is at risk if she doesn't stop with past lives nonsense. However, Carol is determined to prove that each existence is a prelude, one that leads to the next, and that the source of all health crises originates in one’s past. So, she seeks out Dr. Lee, an authority in past life research. Her work immediately takes a dangerous turn that jeopardizes not only her future with her fiance but his career too.

I can't believe what an impressive book I've just read. Prelude: Every Life is a Prelude to the Next is a controversial yet startling book about hypnosis, karma, and the continuity of our soul’s journey. It's a well-researched thriller that offers insight into what might lie within our subconscious. Cheryl A. Malakoff and Robert A. Clampett effectively answered one of my most burning questions: "Why don't we remember anything from our past life?" Prelude is an urgent read as it isn't just a work of fiction but a reminder of a lost belief—that our lives are just part of a journey, one after another, and that we possess the inner wisdom to heal ourselves. This provocative novel shows how yesterday's foolishness becomes tomorrow's wisdom.

The Bottom Line: Impossible to put down. This riveting mystery about the greatest of all mysteries is an unexpected treasure.

Prelude, the formidable novel by Cheryl A. Malakoff and Robert A. Clampett, calls the finality of death into question by putting the notion of reincarnation on trial. Thankfully, it manages to do so in the most entertaining way possible.

The novel opens on psychologist Carol Klein, a freshly minted Ph.D. in the university’s Department of Behavioral Medicine. She leads a patient into regressive hypnosis, when, to her utter shock, the patient is immersed in a traumatic past life experience, complete with blood-curdling screams. After several tense moments, she eventually brings her patient back to reality.

The experience provokes Carol to investigate past life research and eventually discovers her own previous history as a deceased songwriter and activist Iris Middleton Paulson, who wrote the song for which the novel is eponymously titled. With the aid of others, Carol lays claim to a sizeable unclaimed inheritance, battling Iris’ living descendants. Told from alternating perspectives, the ensuing story is an epic referendum on death that defies easy categorization (let’s call it a legal thriller with metaphysical overtones). In the end, Prelude is, above all, unlike any book you've ever read.

I couldn’t stop reading it, and ordered two more for friends. I loved the quotes at the beginning of each chapter and added them to all my notes I made from the book. It has a healing message in so many chapters. I get so excited with what I read that I think everyone should read it.

Prelude is an amazing book! It's captivating, incredibly interesting and entertaining. Even after reading the summary, the story took me by surprise. Now that I'm done reading the book, I miss it... always a sign of a really good read. This book should be made into a movie, though it would be tough to make it as good as this fascinating book.

This was a thought provoking and compelling book. Fiction based in truth, it examines many of the ridiculous constraints that now govern medicine, the foremost what is best for the patient may be unconventional, and not particularly popular with the mainstream, but is extremely effective. The reincarnation theme complements what I believe and was presented scientifically (if you care to research) and realistically. The characters were well developed, real, and even when on opposing sides in a courtroom likable. I will definitely read this again and have recommended it to many.

The plot is stimulating and pulsing with intrigue. This book got me to thinking more about my own fate and the destiny of my own soul. Highly recommend this book to those who think about the meaning of life and about what comes before and after. Gripping, insightful, stimulating. A must read!
