Quandaries of Love is a sizzling hot romance novella penned by author Valerie J Runyan. This quick read romance takes a diverse route to its romantic conclusions, featuring couples of the same gender, age-gap relationships, and romance between differently abled people. In this very different approach, we find that excitement, passion, love, and tenderness still exist for all people, as human nature doesn’t really change despite the configuration of the couple. From the fluid lifestyles of those lust-driven souls who have just met, to the long-lasting connections and impressions which love can make, this modern romantic tale shoots through it all in the blink of an eye.
Written in a dialogue-driven style which reads more like a play than a novel, the moments captured during Quandaries of Love sizzle with passion despite the unusual pairings and situations by which people come together. I would have liked a little more depth and slower pacing in certain moments to really understand the characters’ intentions fully, but readers who wish to get right to the point will not be disappointed by Valerie J Runyan’s sharp writing style. There are high points of vivid description and raw emotion, and the diversity presented in both the characters and the different styles of narration and dialogue offer much to enjoy through every page of this quick adventure into the world of modern love. Runyan provides great insight into the world beyond the boy-meets-girl tradition with real love, joy, pain, and passion, and I’d recommend this book to anyone seeking romance with a realistically modern twist.
