Paula Quinn transports readers to 17th century England. It was an era of unrest. The Protestants and Catholics were struggling for the control of the throne. Lady Davina Montgomery was raised by the sisters at Saint Christopher’s Abbey. Her parents had hidden her away and left her heavily guarded. The abbey was attacked by enemies of her family; there were no survivors. A group of Highlanders rescued Davina from the burning abbey. Robert MacGregor pledged his support to the beautiful young noble woman. Passion quickly grew between the couple. Both had a duty to family and their love could destroy all.

This is the first book in the "Children of the Mist" Series. I’ve always enjoyed Highlander books. There is something intriguing and romantic about the Scottish Highlands and a man in a kilt. Quinn doesn’t stop with romance. She includes historical facts. She mixes in just the right amount of romance, danger, and intrigue. The lead characters play well off of each other. Rob is strong, admirable and caring. Davina is endearing. I found this book very entertaining.

What can I say about this book. I LOVED IT. But I also have read the whole series. It does not disappoint!
It hooks you from the start and doesn't let go. I have read this book so many times there are paperclips holding in pages.
Great story! Love and passion.
