Razorblade by Isabella Falconeri is a dystopian novel set in a post-apocalyptic world known as the After, where people vie for power and dominance. The story follows Fox, a skilled operative who is second-in-command at The Phoenix Company. The company was once reputable under the leadership of Penelope, but it has taken a darker turn under Theresa, a greedy woman devoid of principles. As Fox begins to question the company's oppressive methods, tensions rise, especially in their interactions with Bronx Corp., their rival faction. The turning point for Fox comes when he discovers a bio-vat containing a synthetic woman believed to be from before the collapse. He starts to develop feelings for her and her brilliant mind, and with Theresa becoming increasingly controlling and manipulative, Fox's loyalty to the company and Theresa begins to waver.

Razorblade by Isabella Falconeri is a gripping narrative that delves into themes of betrayal and survival in a fragmented society. While the story has a dark tone and fast-paced action, it also includes humorous moments and witty characters that make it engaging. Fox and his colleagues have natural dialogue and chemistry. This tale is not only an entertaining exploration of power struggles but also offers profound lessons about trust, sacrifice, and ethics. It emphasizes the relentless cycle of violence, destruction, and greed that perpetuates both dystopian societies and our current world. The novel challenges readers to reflect on the importance of integrity and moral courage in chaotic circumstances. An incredible plot twist takes you by surprise yet makes perfect sense, encouraging you to revisit the story since the clues are cleverly concealed throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to fans of dystopian thrillers, action-adventure enthusiasts, and those interested in stories that challenge ethical boundaries while providing exhilarating entertainment.
