Reading Shmeading Stinkin' Reading by Nat Gibson is about Benji, a little boy who loves stories but struggles to read them on his own. For children with dyslexia, learning can often be discouraging, and their confidence may quickly begin to decline. Benji understands this feeling very well. While working on a classroom project, he becomes aware of an essential truth when he interacts with his teacher: he thinks in a way that is unlike anyone else's in his class, and that difference gives him the benefit of developing a unique and creative way of solving problems no one else sees. This positive story gives parents and teachers a new way to help their children see dyslexia as a meaningful part of their identity.

Reading Shmeading Stinkin' Reading creates a safe environment for a condition that has troubled many for years without proper understanding. The beautiful aspect of this story is how it connects children with their dyslexia by showing that they are surrounded by others who face the same difficulties, and everyone has their own unique gifts - their individual strengths that define them as a person. I appreciated the inclusion of famous people who have also been diagnosed with dyslexia, therefore showing that having dyslexia is not an obstacle to succeeding in life. I loved the illustrations by Dana Regan, both the style and the color. It was thoughtful of Nat Gibson to use a dyslexia-friendly type font. Overall, this book is a perfect resource for use at school, before bed, or on those days when dyslexia seems to be a little more challenging than usual.

Dyslexia makes it difficult for children to read and understand written language, which can be frustrating for them. That's why it's important to explain what dyslexia is so they can manage it and feel confident about continuing to learn new things. Nat Gibson's Reading Shmeading Stinkin' Reading is about Benji, a boy who loves all kinds of stories, from tales of pirates to space adventures. The problem is that he doesn't enjoy reading on his own. For him, certain words and letters are difficult to distinguish because they appear similar to one another. The same thing happens when he writes because he can confuse the order of the letters. This discourages him a little because, in class, he can see how his classmates read and write without difficulty. But he also realizes that his creativity helps him recognize his own strengths.

I appreciate how Nat Gibson addresses a complex topic so engagingly. I really liked that the story mentions situations that are common both at home and at school. Children can easily relate to Benji, and the language is clear and easy to understand. The story is motivating because Benji strives to learn to read and write. He also discovers that he has a creative mind that makes it easy for him to build things, draw, and do other activities. Benji is an example of resilience and illustrates that each of us has unique talents. Additionally, Dana Regan's illustrations are colorful and fun. Reading Shmeading Stinkin' Reading is about confidence, facing everyday situations in a positive way, and above all, letting creativity flow.

Reading Shmeading Stinkin’ Reading by Nat Gibson is a picture book for young readers. A boy named Benji struggles to grasp reading and writing. No matter what he does, the words simply have a mind of their own. He compares himself to his classmates and feels disheartened by seeing them read and write with ease. He just wants the words to stop jumping around on the pages. One day at school, Benji is having his usual issues, but notices the other children are doing something different, something they are struggling with. Benji decides to help. Will Benji be able to help his classmates with the project, or will the materials start jumping around as well? Find out in this book.

Reading Shmeading Stinkin’ Reading by Nat Gibson showcases how dyslexia can affect someone. Children will be especially affected if they have dyslexia, as it can be confusing and frustrating for them. They’ll also compare themselves to others, as the character Benji did. So it's good to see books like these exist. The writing is of a professional quality and will enable children to absorb every useful word written, whilst having a giggle at the fun wording. The illustrations by Dana Regan are eye-catching, colorful, and will certainly be a hit with children. I’m glad I had the chance to read this wonderful book, and I hope that Nat has more books coming. Keep up the great work, I’ll be keeping an eye out for your next book!
