Reality and Beyond This World by Fiona Failla begins with the evolution of human consciousness in response to changes on Earth, championing an awakening and an elevation of vibrational energy as essential for personal development. Failla speaks on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to illustrate the necessity of fulfilling basic needs for self-actualization and identifies transformative signs like shifts in relationships and heightened intuition. Failla talks about concepts such as reincarnation, soul contracts, and karma, leaning into the importance of self-awareness and spiritual healing. She reviews dream interpretation, tracing its history and analyzing common symbols, and promotes methods like vision boards for discovering life's purpose. Failla also discusses trauma's effects, the bonds of mental, emotional, and physical health, and provides strategies for manifesting intentions, and the importance of connecting with deceased loved ones.

Fiona Failla’s Reality and Beyond This World: A Beginner's Guide to Self-Actualisation is a really thoughtful self-help book that invites readers to dig deeper into themselves. Failla’s writing style is a comfortable blend of academic and conversational, and she makes some of the more complicated concepts easily understandable. I most appreciated Failla's discussion of the importance of self-compassion and surrounding oneself with positive influences. Her practical exercises are particularly beneficial, allowing us to make what she gives us actionable. While some of the ideas presented may feel familiar to seasoned readers of New Age and spiritual literature, Failla's fresh perspective makes this book a worthwhile addition to anyone’s personal development library. Overall, it serves as a wonderfully accessible guide for those embarking on a journey toward self-actualization and emotional balance. Very highly recommended.
