Mr Grantham is a California native, and a graduate of San Jose State University. He has traveled extensively throughout the US, including Alaska and Hawaii. Work also took him to Asia, and Europe, Sweden was not much fun in February. He has lived in many parts of the US, but always returned home, to the state of his birth. He began to write, only after moving to a small mountain community in northern California. He states that the old gold mines, and rough characters of the region inspire his writing.

Redemption for a Lonely Man by Gerald W. Grantham is an action packed story of betrayal, love and revenge. Bill is a widower, losing his wife to suicide and losing his trust at the same time. He is an ex-SEAL, returning home only to bury his parents. He is persuaded to stay on and follow his father as Country Sheriff, a job which proves to be surprisingly full. Activity in the mines draws his attention as Jennifer waltzes into his life. She is too much like his late wife and Bill turns away. Then the DEA gets involved as a drug cartel is discovered in the mines and Anita, their PR person, comes into his life. The cartel brings soldiers with guns and an attempt is made on Bill's life. He finds out his cousin Russ, a police department captain, was involved. Rape, death and a drug discovery at the police department follows and Bill, together with his daughter, who is a reporter, and Anita stand to fight against the cartel. Who will win as the FBI and Homeland Security enter the fray?
I enjoyed reading Redemption for a Lonely Man by Gerald W. Grantham. It was pretty much action all the way, with lots going on to keep one’s attention. The story was well thought out and the characters fitted. The only problem I had was that some scenes dragged a little and it perhaps needed a little more editing so it ran a bit smoother. That said, it is a good book and with a touch of polishing will certainly hold its own.
