Our story begins with an accident. Forty year old Adya Jordan woke up in a hospital asking for her children and husband. Only she is no longer a forty year old woman but a mere fourteen year old teen. After many tests she is released from the hospital and returns to her parent’s home. One day the carnival came to town, Adya and her family attended. A sketch artist hands Adya an unusual portrait and a fortune teller shares bits of a vision. Adya’s new, old life was the same but different. Her parents were the same but events changed. She was beginning to think she was in a parallel universe.
She was contacted by a company called Three Eleven. It is made up of other people who have been transported back in time. The company is the most powerful entity on Earth. They used information from the future to manipulate the technology of the past. The executives of Three Eleven work together in hopes of saving the world from impending disaster. Adya joins forces with the company under the guise of an internship.
This book is chocked full of medical and scientific information. Yet it was written in terms simple enough that even I understood most of it. The author describes time as layers. In the plot a mysterious someone is manipulating the layers by sending specific people back through time. I found this book fascinating. It ended too soon. However, the author has set it up perfectly for the next installment. I did find a few minor errors proving the book needed proofread. Ok Kathy Bell what’s going to happen next? I’m filled with questions. Don’t leave me hanging!
