How Pitcairn writer, and now published wonder woman, Nadine Christian fits writing romance, children's and young adult books into to her busy Pitcairn lifestyle, is no mean feat. Nadine and her Pitcairn born husband have 5 children, the oldest 11 and the youngest just 3 , she bakes her own bread, tends to her family’s orchard, 4 goats, 2 cats and 30 chickens, works as Pitcairn’s Government Treasurer and Museum Curator, manages her home stay guests, weaves traditional baskets and makes jewelry. It’s when she’s not ‘busy’ that she gets to work writing, which has seen her recently nominated in The Shorty Awards, which honors active writers on social media.
Nadine considers herself a late bloomer, “I didn’t start writing until my forties and now I can’t go a day without it.” Having written 3 romances and 3 young adult novels, all set on Pitcairn, Nadine’s American agent is confident her books will be a hit and that she’s more than able to keep them coming. “Remembering Love is my debut romance novel - so the excitement is tremendous. But, I’ve got a really special Pitcairn story with my agent at the moment and I’m already 7000 words into its sequel. Once a story has revealed itself and I’ve captured it on the page, I’m always ready for the next.”
