After serving over 40 years in the ministry, I must say that Ted Rogers has written the best devotional I have read in a long time. His book, Reminders of God, Spring/Summer, is the best modern devotional I have read. I would rank the devotions with the works of Oswald Chambers and Charles Spurgeon. Ted shares how the Word of God is relevant to our daily lives. He speaks of drawing closer to Jesus Christ. He believes in the community of believers. In places, Ted includes the Greek or Hebrew definitions of words from the Bible. He does this in an easy-to-understand method. For instance, the word for “prepare” in John 14:2-3 means “to prepare specifically for someone.” God knows our needs and designs our eternal home how we need it. Ted also points out that God can use pain for good.

We live in a busy world with little extra time. However, not having the time cannot be used as an excuse for not reading Reminders of God, Spring/Summer by Ted Rogers. Ted keeps each daily devotional short. They are to the point and easy to read. The applications he shares are spot-on. Ted shows that the true sign of being a Christian is love. We are to love each other and be there for each other. Ted has served in various church positions, including youth pastor and senior pastor. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I think every Christian should have a copy and read it every morning. I look forward to the Summer/Fall edition.

I have read both this book and the first installment of Reminders of God, the Winter/Spring edition. They are without a doubt the best devotional guides to come out of late. Dr. Ted Rogers keeps each day's devotion fresh with a new story, a new passage of Scripture , and most especially with new and deep insights that are applicable in today's world. His experiences garnered over 40 years of pastoring as well as teaching history at a secular university have filled him with with a lifetime of knowledge and understanding that he is willing to share. His expertise in both Bible exposition and teaching make him the perfect guide to learning how to be relevant and real, personal and purposeful, transparent and transcendent in our daily interactions with this world and its wonderfully diverse and beautiful inhabitants. These are quick daily reads that take the reader to the heart of being the arms and feet of Christ, to being love and grace to a very confused and desperate world. they will help you grow and become the purposeful follower of Christ that you were meant to be. If you are looking for answers or understanding, or if you simply need to be reminded that you are deeply loved and cherished by God, these devotionals are for you.
