Rhio Saves Christmas! is a fun book written by John P. Curtin, Jr. and Sr. as well as being illustrated by John P. Curtin, Jr. Rhio Saves Christmas! tells the story of a rhinoceros named Rhio and how he and his friends - Liam the lion, Joey the bear, and Carrot the rabbit - help the Senior Center host with their Christmas dinner. The four friends do everything from delivering the snow bound oven right before closing time to actually putting on a show for everyone to enjoy, and help make the senior citizens' Christmas dinner a big hit. This book makes a great gift for young children, especially around Christmas time, as it imparts an important lesson: that the holidays are all about giving and doing what we can to help those around us.
This book is the third book in the Rhio and Friends series. The language of the story is good for young children to understand as you read aloud or they perhaps read along with you, and it is also simple enough for beginning readers to read on their own or to younger siblings. It is a short and fun story that is primarily aimed at lower graders. Children will have fun tagging along with Rhio on all his fun adventures, as he goes sledding, plays with friends, and of course, helps save Christmas. The colorful and animated illustrations are eye grabbing and attention getting, and are sure to inspire the creativity and imagination of all young readers who see them!
