Davis relates her decades' long experiences as a doctor in multiple countries of Asia and Africa, working on the eradication of infectious diseases on behalf of WHO and other international foundations. During her travels, she meets people from a diverse spectrum of cultures, customs, and traditions, soaking in plenty of rich experiences in the process. Her journey starts in Florence, Italy, where she spends her junior year as a medical student. To eradicate smallpox in India, she gets the opportunity to travel to a diverse country with a rich culture, finding particular joy in places like Laddakh. Davis also shares her varied experiences in places like Malaysia, Afghanistan, Somalia, Cambodia, and many more and reminisces her attempts to scale Mount Kilimanjaro and Everest.
