Santa Also Forgets by Wendy Maclean is the story of Lolo and her siblings on Christmas Eve as they prepare for the holiday with excitement and family traditions. After setting out treats for Santa and the reindeer, the children go to sleep, excited for Christmas morning. When Lolo wakes up, she notices Santa has forgotten something at their home, and it troubles her. She plans to bring it along on a future trip to Santa’s Village to return it. The plan doesn’t succeed, but Lolo learns that being kind and making an effort still count. The story follows the ups and downs of her small adventure while exploring family, tradition, and gentle life lessons. Will Lolo find a way to make everything right?

Santa Also Forgets by Wendy Maclean is built around humor, warmth, and relatable holiday moments. The writing is gentle, making it easy for young readers to read, while Amelina Jones’s illustrations bring all the pages to life. Lolo is such a warm, lovable child, and the way she reacts to things really brings out the heart of the story. The narrative moves between those cozy moments at home and the bright, playful Santa’s Village, and it made everything very easy to picture. I really liked that the story didn’t make a big issue out of messing up or forgetting things—it felt like a gentle reminder that even small acts of kindness matter. This is a really comforting read. I think families and anyone looking for a gentle holiday story would really enjoy it.
