First, I want to say that the cover of this story is awesome. It is eye catching, and really fits the story perfectly. Secondly, I want to say that I really enjoyed this book. It is a children's book but the story is well-written and kept me intriguing until the end. I have two young sons, aged 9 and 7, and they both enjoyed me reading this story to them.
"Sea Turtle Summer" is filled with fun and learning. With the help of Britt and Bella, the author shows the reader the importance of Turtles laying their eggs and having them protected from all things. The reader gets to journey alongside the girls, and learn all the things that can happen after a turtle lays her eggs and the things that can harm them. It is a fun experience to read through a book and see the delight on children's faces when they are learning something new, especially when my kids already have a fascination with turtles.
The illustrations by Samantha Bell that follow this story are awesome. They are a perfect fit for the story line and are most definitely eye catching. They portrayed the sea turtle, the beach, Bella and Britt beautifully. Samantha Bell has great talent.
If you are looking for an educational tool for your children that will hold their attention, this is definitely a great book to have. Whether you're looking for it for the home, the library, or school, this book will work its way into the heart of any young child. Nancy Stewart is a fantastically talented children's book author and I am looking forward to reading more stories like this one, both for myself and my children.
