The scene is set in Manhattan, New York, the city that never sleeps. Simone Herron seems to have her life all together, a job she loves with a successful real estate firm, and a loving fiancé who fits the title of her soul mate. When a tragic event separates her from the love of her life, Simone must make some tough life decisions that involve relocating to her hometown, mending a broken relationship with her self-absorbed sister, and learning to trust in love once again. Secret Places Revealed by Paulette Harper is a well-developed inspirational story about dealing with loss, adventure, and trusting in a higher power, all while fulfilling your destiny.
Dealing with my own successes and losses in life, I felt a strong connection with Paulette Harper’s character Simone Herron, and was inspired by her resilience to remain focused and positive when everything seemed to be falling apart. I especially loved the sister-ship Simone had with her girlfriend Kendra, her trusted confidante, and found myself laughing along with them. Oh, the elevator mishap was priceless as a prelude to a romantic adventure between Simone and Aaron.
Secret Places Revealed is heartwarming and sincere. I applaud Ms. Harper for writing such an inspiring story in today’s vernacular -staying true to her audience, about taking a leap of faith that beckons one to look deep within ourselves for truth and understanding while fighting an addiction. Ms. Harper’s descriptive narration allows us to fall in love with each character and their pursuits to happiness. If you liked reading “Waiting to Exhale”, “Not Easily Broken”, and “The Preachers Wife”, you will not be disappointed while reading Paulette Harper’s Secret Places Revealed. I highly recommend adding this book to your collection.
