Ten years ago, Eva Rayburn was raped and branded. She remembers being pulled from the burning sorority house where Josiah Cross died. She was accused of murder, and her sorority sisters testified against her. To protect her sisters, she confesses to the murder but remembers nothing.
Present day: Eva is released from prison and returns to her home town. One by one the girls who testified against Eva are found murdered. Each body has a star shape branded into their flesh. All the clues point to Eva. Detective Garrison is investigating the case. As he goes over the old case files, he believes Eva was innocent, and now he must try and stop this “Senseless” killing before there are any more victims one of them being Eva.
“Senseless” is a chilling thriller that will keep the reader glued to their seat just waiting to see what happens next with an ending that comes as a surprise. An excellent plot, a psychotic killer, and crime scenes that will keep the most enthused reader of suspense satisfied till the end and characters that are easy to connect with very easily. Recommended for all readers of the suspense genre. You can’t go wrong with Mary Burton’s “Senseless.”
