In Serendipity (Inevitable) by Janet Nissenson, Fate brings together Julia McKinnon and Nathan Atwood. Both Nathan and Julia were in love earlier and circumstances forced them apart when Nathan decided to leave Julia. It was heartbreaking for the both of them and the memories of their time together haunted them both. Now they are working together and Nathan is her boss. Their hidden feelings and attraction for each other resurface. Will Julia be able to control her feelings for him? Will Nathan be attracted to Julia again like before?

Both the characters of Nathan and Julia are very attractively portrayed. The heartbreak that Julia goes through when Nathan leaves her is tangible. The conflicting emotions that Nathan goes through when he decides to leave Julia is woven well into the story. The emotional states of the lovers are different yet they are intertwined with each other. The author has done an excellent job in setting them apart, at the same time linking them with their emotions. The book is sensual and the romance between them is portrayed strongly enough to make readers wish that they get back together.

The story is romantic and there are some moments which seal the intensity of what the lovers feel for each other. Julia's character is a bit more dramatic than Nathan's and she is more expressive. Nathan is intense and deep. The other characters lend good support to these two main characters to make it an exciting love story for readers.
