“Seven Point Eight: The Second Chronicle” by Marie Habron is the second book in the “Seven Point Eight Series”, a dramatic story with science fiction, fantasy, paranormal and romance elements. In the second chronicle, we learn more about the backgrounds of the characters Ava and Sam, who only played minor roles in the first chronicle. The main story-line focuses on Tahra, the talented remote viewer. In the second chronicle, she develops a talent for more than just remote viewing which makes her even more interesting and desirable for military bosses. And they won't stop until they get what they want. The book takes us through different countries and explores their cultural significance in relation to exploring other dimensions, e.g. Egypt and its pyramids. Chapter after chapter, the reader realizes the connection between Tahra and the other characters. Will that connection ruin their lives?

“Seven Point Eight: The Second Chronicle” by Marie Habron doesn't focus as much on what happens in other dimensions as the first chronicle. There are reasons for this which make sense (I won't give you spoilers though!) but you can't help but want to learn even more about those other dimensions because Marie Habron describes them in such vivid details and makes you really see those worlds in front of your mental eye. She also makes sure that you don't feel too sure about knowing what will happen next. You move from chapter to chapter and get really upset about the developments and wonder how the problems could ever be solved. Many authors don't manage to twist their characters around like that and often don't dare to let them do things that are very questionable. Many authors get too attached to their characters to let them suffer or do bad things. There is often a clear line between good and evil characters. Don't look for that line here. Marie Habron knows no mercy and you can never be sure about what will happen next. Some of the bad things you see coming and you hope you are wrong about them. It doesn't happen very often that a book is so engaging and entertaining but also philosophical. Usually you get action without thought or philosophy without action. This book unites both and never gets boring.

In the second installment from the 'Seven Point Eight series', Ava and Sam determine to seek the answers to their past. Meanwhile, Dr.Paul Eldridge is struggling with the OOBE project, questioning his ethics, as he fears for Tahra Mamoun's well-being as well as the others that are trapped in different dimensions. Ignoring Paul's protest, Tahra offers her help to find and save the other recruits. Max Richardson, who controls the project with an iron grip, expects nothing but success from both Paul and Tahra, regardless of the dangers that they have to face. Failure is never an option.

Marie Harbon weaves her magic again in "The Second Chronicle" and she did not disappoint me. This series keeps feeding my curiosity about the world that we are living in, as well as humans' true abilities. Science has no boundaries in the world that Harbon created. The dialogues are sharp as ever, her characters are given the room to grow from the first installment, and the actions are mind-blowing as I expected them to be. I didn't stop from reading this book except when real world needed my attention. Tahra Mamoun was my favorite character from the first book, and she is yet again in this second book. She is still a mystery to me and that is what I love about her. Overall, science fiction lovers should give this series a go, or they will miss a great opportunity to broaden their minds a little bit more.
