Author Biography

With her IvyLeague education, white trash sensibility, and pop culture savvy, GVR Corcillo delights in writing Chick Lit about characters who try not to trip as they valiantly march to their own bongo beat.

But she didn't start writing right away. First, she worked in a greenhouse, a potpourri-stuffing factory, an electrical fixtures plant, a book warehouse, a metal-perforating factory, a radio station, and a bar. Not to mention she taught high school in Watts and South Central Los Angeles. But none of these fit the bill for what she always wanted to be when she grew up - a writer. So, she won some writing contests, hit the New York Times Bestsellers List with her first short story, and got a screenplay produced.

Geralyn Vivian Ruane Corcillo, a native of Chinchilla, Pennsylvania, lives in North Hollywood with her husband Ron, a television comedy writer. They are both New York Giants fans.

Lisa Flyte woke up a few months ago rich, thin, and famous. What more could a girl want, right? Well, for starters it’d be nice to not be afraid of everything and it would be even nicer if she could find Jack Hawkins trekking his way through the woods. But that is not who Lisa is, unfortunately. She is clumsy and despite her new slimmed-down physique, thanks to a brief stint in a coma after a terrifying and humiliating experience at a Burger Barn, and her fattened-up bank account due to a settlement from said Barn, Lisa is simply unhappy. So we meet her in She Likes It Rough as she is taking matters into her own very impulsive hands to get over her fear of…everything. G.V.R. Corcillo gives us those “matters” in the form of a very rugged and very handsome extreme sports gear maker, Jack Hawkins.

Lisa decides that in order to be happy she needs to become brave and the only way to do that is to serve as the guinea pig for Jack’s new line of equipment for the less than experienced adventurer. She Likes It Rough is not about your average shy yet beautiful damsel falling for the white knight who saves her. No! Lisa is crazy! She says what we’re all thinking only she says it funnier, she does just about everything without thinking about it for even one second before, and did I mention that she’s clumsy? Really, incredibly clumsy. G.V.R. Corcillo draws out the love story, making this incredible story and quirky heroine work for their happy ending. This story is hilarious, fast paced, and one wild ride.
