This page-turner is going to have you hooked, flipping from cover to cover. If you are looking for a riveting contemporary romance novel, Dalia Dupris’ Soft Lies and Hard Truths is the answer. Both Leah Ann and Miguel have fallen in love with the wrong people. Leah’s love for Raymond has taken more from her than she realizes, including her confidence and perhaps dignity. While Miguel has never made his true feelings for Leah clear, Leah considers him the brother she never had, and that may be all she could ever see him as. But only love can rewrite Miguel’s story with the broken beauty. Dupris weaves an intriguing plot, featuring an exciting, dynamic cast. The realistic depictions of the characters' feelings and the juxtaposing of their complex traits had me on an emotional rollercoaster as I connected with them. Coupled with Dupris’ knack for whipping up witty dramatic scenes and colorful evocative depictions, this made the reading experience feel like I was watching a Hollywood romance comedy.
