In D. Harrigon's Somebody Keeps Callin', an unidentified woman wakes up in a forest in the dead of night with a headless corpse next to her. She's unfazed by the body. This isn't the first time she's found herself in this shocking predicament and she's certainly not opposed to killing again. Our Jane Doe has supernatural daemon strength, speed, and reflexes. It's undeniable that she's no ordinary woman. The woman is searching for her mother's killers and aims her vengeance at a powerful sex trafficking syndicate. A skilled mercenary is on her trail. Can she eliminate him before he stops her? At the same time, an alluring detective enters the picture. Will he help our protagonist exact the revenge she desperately seeks, or will he stand in her way?

Somebody Keeps Callin' by D. Harrigon is striking, profound, humorous, and bold. Revenge, justice, and betrayal are just some of the many themes explored in this novel. Each captivating scene is described well and is absorbing, drawing us into the narrative while transforming us into eager spectators, completely submerged in the events as they unfold. The plot is imaginative and original, with a well-delivered exploration of the protagonist and secondary characters, like Detective Dan and Bright-Eyes. I love how the story flows back and forth between the protagonist's present vigilante quest, family life, childhood experiences, hopes and dreams, and the things she valued the most before her inner beast entered into the equation. Fans of fantasy horror will enjoy this exciting tale. It is bursting with action, gut-wrenching twists, sinister agendas, and shocking reveals that will, without a doubt, keep you on the edge of your seat.
