In Soulful: You in the Future of Artificial Intelligence, David Espindola provides an analysis of Artificial Intelligence, including its history, implications, ethical concerns, and possibilities. He discusses broadening education to better prepare future generations to interact with AI more easily. Espindola has not used AI to generate any part of this book, and he provides a glossary for technical words, along with references for his research and a cover constructed, in part, by DALL-E. From somatosensory suits to a few economic and historical lessons that may help humans more accurately predict our future, the author encourages human involvement with every new development in AI. Espindola addresses the challenges of AI but prepares his readers for a possible positive long-range outcome.

Whether you’re excited or apprehensive about the developments in Artificial Intelligence, David Espindola delivers a well-researched book with several scenarios to consider. As a Christian, Espindola relates his text with scientific accuracy while understanding the views of Christian and non-Christian followers. He does not aim his work at a particular group, as his focus shows a way to live in harmony with the developing forms of AI. The author provides a more optimistic view of the digital future if humans remain unified and welcome the changes. If we seek the long-term effects of AI, the benefits, like significant medical advancements and the ability to pursue more spiritual activities, may outweigh the fears or misunderstandings we may have about AI. Soulful is a great selection for anyone who enjoys open-minded discussions about AI and its impact on the future.
