Spindleheart: Wrath of the Ravelwind Knight is a children's fantasy novel by T.I. Avens. Wynn Spindleseer asks her gold talking glass about the whereabouts of Brume. Brume had stolen Wynn's powerful family heirloom, the Spindlechest. However, her talking glass warns her of an upcoming soul-stealing storm. As she and her friends venture into the woods of the Dark Agrestal, they inadvertently trespass on the territory of the breem. Meanwhile, Calla Witfirth and her sister Saffron are also tracking Brume. On her adventure fighting shadow creatures and more, Wynn is also joined by Calix, a squire of the Ravelwind Knights. Now, she must stand her ground against her mortal enemy, Brume. But to beat him, Wynn may have to sacrifice one of her treasured possessions. Additionally, she must embrace her destiny.
For young readers who love unique magical creatures, vividly described fantasy worlds, and thrilling battle sequences, Spindleheart: Wrath of the Ravelwind Knight is an absolute must-read. Author T.I. Avens packs a lot into this fast-paced narrative with plenty of twists and turns along the way. There are a lot of characters in this story. However, every single one of them has their own agency and distinct personality that leaves a mark on you. You also feel an innate sense of adventure while reading. Wynn and her friends' quest is full of danger, but their camaraderie and friendship make you enjoy the tale even when the stakes are high. Although it's geared toward a younger audience, I think even older fantasy readers will love this book. Highly recommended.
