A year after returning from a mission to the past to save Tempestria, Dreya the Dark, a powerful faery sorceress, and Catriona “Cat” Redfletching, a half faery druid, wed in a private ceremony. On their return from honeymoon, the Council of Mages summons the Guardians of Time and Magic, which includes the pair, and Mandalee, a demon hunter, expressing their dissatisfaction over the trio’s failure to secure the remaining pieces of the Fragments of Kullos. They only had two of the six. However, during the procession, they learn that their previous mission had consequences that rippled through their current timeline, causing inconsistencies in time, which posed a threat from IT, the embodiment of chaos, an entity capable of erasing existence if reality's walls were breached. The Guardians and the Council of Mages must make tough choices to fix these inconsistencies, lest the terrifying cosmic forces have their way with Tempestria. Find out how it all goes down in Splintered Time: The Salvation of Tempestria Book 5 by Gary Stringer.
Gary Stringer once again weaves an enthralling plot featuring Dreya the Dark, Cat, and Mandalee in Splintered Time. Stringer maintains the storyline and expansive world-building typical of the series. The scenes unfold vividly, and I could almost see the vibrant colors incorporated in the narrative exploding onto the pages. Fans of Doctor Strange and Endgame will love it. For Tempestria, the threat lies everywhere—in the past, present, future, and in the far reaches of the cosmos—and defeating it demands not just courage, selflessness, and unity, but also steely resolve and painful sacrifices. As I followed the characters in and out of portals, manipulating time and racing to fix the looming threat, I was treated to adventure, suspense, high-stakes drama, impressive magic, political intrigue, and more. I highly recommend reading the previous installments in the series to relish this epic fantasy.
