Dee Rand is an author whose journey into writing was deeply inspired by her experience as a mother. Throughout her life, Dee has always had a passion for music, reading, and all things creative. However, it wasn’t until she became a mother at age 37 that she truly discovered her voice as a writer. The birth of her first daughter, affectionately nicknamed “Squish,” sparked Dee’s creative journey as she began composing sweet lullabies. As Squish grew, Dee sang these songs to her day and night, fostering a deep connection through music.
Just 15 months later, Dee’s son, affectionately named “Squeam,” arrived and further fueled her creative inspiration, leading to even more original songs. Encouraged by a lifelong friend, Dee was motivated to share her musical creations with the world. This led to the creation of the Squish & Squeam series, a collection of charming stories designed to entertain and educate young children through the power of music.
For Dee, becoming a mother has been her most rewarding accomplishment. Her passion for inspiring young readers through engaging, educational tales is matched by her desire to show others that it’s never too late to pursue their dreams. In her free time, Dee enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Her mission is to inspire others by demonstrating that dreams can come true, even later in life, and that it’s always possible to live the life you’ve always envisioned.

Join two adorable siblings on their everyday adventure with Dee Rand's Squish & Squeam's Daily Routine. Squish and Squeam love to sing and tell others about their daily routine. They wake up in the morning to the sound of their mom singing them a special song. As they get dressed and brush their teeth, Squish and Squeam continue to sing. Then, they have a hearty breakfast of pancakes. It's their favorite meal of the day. After their bellies are full, it's time to play. The siblings love making sandcastles in the sun. But their adventures have made them dirty, so they have to take baths and say goodbye to the sand. They are tired and must rest, but not before their mom sings them one last song and kisses them goodnight.
Hop on this adventurous ride and spend time with two delightful youngsters as they navigate their song-filled day. Squish & Squeam's Daily Routine has colorful illustrations and a rhyming story, but most of all, it's filled with so much fun. Author Dee Rand's rhymes are catchy and easy to sing. Young readers will have a blast with this picture book. Squish and Squeam are sweet and adventurous. Kids will love to follow their daily routine and everyday adventures as they can relate to their idea of fun. Imani Maco has done a fantastic job with the illustrations. They complement Rand's rhyming verses and bring out the lively personalities of the siblings. Parents can read this book to their kids and have fun together. In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and heartily recommend it to young readers!
