Standing Firm is a work of non-fiction focused on the study of Christianity and the Bible and was penned by author Janet Ruth. Designed for the purpose of studying to better understand the purpose of God and his role in giving you a good life, this concise guidebook offers practical and uplifting advice from cover to cover. As described in the Bible itself, the author references the Armor of God and its role in helping readers and believers to shape their lives through devotion and understanding of the ideas that the Word of God puts forward. The volume also contains exercises that can be completed to develop further self-questioning and reflection on the themes discussed.
Author Janet Ruth has created a highly well-organized approach to faith, which will help even the most lost of readers to get a handle on their lives again, and have faith that God can help them to find strength, truth and the right path forward. There is a very encouraging and uplifting tone to Ruth’s narrative throughout the work, which makes it feel as though a friend is speaking to you rather than a teacher or sterner figure. I found the exercises and questions to be very useful in gaining a deeper understanding of the ideas put forward, and they are sure to encourage readers to interact and relate their own lives and experiences to the teachings of God. Overall, Standing Firm is a work of empowerment and support that will be well used by Christians in their time of need.
