Kerry Reed's Star Fire is the latest installment in the Alchemy Conspiracy series. Reed focuses on detailed world-building, employing illustrations and extensive charts of the different factions involved in the conflict in Wyst, alongside a stylish combination of a brief synopsis and flashbacks for the principal characters. This approach establishes continuity and makes it easier for new readers to enjoy this particular installment as a standalone. The dialogue fits the old-world style of English that readers associate with medieval kingdoms. The gradual pacing offers adventure and fantasy readers ample opportunities to solve several cleverly placed puzzles that challenge perceptive readers to think outside the box.
