Imagine that you have a rather dysfunctional family: a brother who loves drinking and smoking too much, and a daughter who goes ballistic every now and then. Your wife and yourself seem to be the only rather 'normal' people. In "Starers" by Nathan Robinson, a family like that has to spend more time locked up with each other than they would like to. They have suddenly turned into the center of attention for the whole neighborhood, the whole town, and, who knows, maybe the whole country as well. One after one, people stop at their house and simply stare at it. The Keene family soon realizes that something is very wrong, especially when the first person dies and nobody even tries to do something. Why are those people out there and why do they simply stare? When a plane falls out of the sky, things become even weirder - and more dangerous.

"Starers" by Nathan Robinson was a nice surprise. It is not your typical horror story but very creepy and unnerving. Just imagine something like that happening to you. Would you find a different way out than the Keene's (whether and how they find a way out is another question though!). The book is well-written and after a while it is hard to put it down. And the end leaves you wanting more. After all, it ends with a bit of a cliffhanger. I would certainly read more of that author as I like his writing style and his ideas are a bit different from what you usually get to read!
